Please read this Money Docs Market Update 3/19/2020

To our Valued Clients, Friends and Radio Listeners,

In these uncertain and unprecedented circumstances, I wanted to reach out to all of my clients to wish you all safety and health though this difficult time.  Specifically for those of you who are unable to listen to our radio show, I wanted to give you an update on my perspective on the markets.

I have been in this industry since 1987 and I can honestly tell you that although emotions are high and this looks so gloomy, I am confident that we will get through it.  It is times like this that we must remember why we have invested the way we have; in order to be sure that your income needs are covered. Although market values are very depressed both in stocks and bonds, the interest on the bonds is paid off the face amount of the bonds, not the market value.  If any or all of your portfolio is in stocks, it is there because it is for future growth and not needed for income any time soon.  Most of you have your short term/emergency funds kept at the bank or credit unions for situations just like this.

I do not know where the bottom of this market is, no one does.  However, I believe that in the future we will look back at this as we did the tech bubble in the late 90s/early 2000s, the 9/11 terrorist attacks, or the financial crisis in 2008, just to name a few.  We will reflect on it in the same way: as possibly one of the greatest buying opportunities in our lifetime.

The Federal Reserve and world governments are working together to prevent a crisis.  It is true that there could be some bankruptcies ahead as all investments contain risk.  However, we believe that it is in the Federal Reserve’s best interest to minimize these and we have already seen them, along with the EU, taking action to provide liquidity to the markets.

We are working hard and closely monitoring the situation.  We are always here for you, and want you to leave the investment worries to us as you care for the health and well-being of yourselves and your loved ones.

If you would like to listen to any shows you may have missed, please go to and you can listen to the shows at your convenience.

We will all get through this together and be stronger because of it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the office at 585.248.5150.
